Andrew Dunstan: Suicide is painless

... and so is migrating a buildfarm client to use the new git repo. Basically, there are two steps:

  • remove the pgsql directories under your build root

  • make any adjustments necessary in your config file

I migrated four animals this morning (three on Windows, which were already using git, one on Linux which was using CVS) and they all seem to be perfectly happy.

The fifth animal I have, quoll, will now retire, as it was created to validate the transitional arrangements.

I also set up a clone of the mater repo and trees for the live branches ready for committer work.

All that's left before I'm fully gitized is to migrate my development trees, and Aidan Van Dyk just gave a valuable clue about using "git format-patch" for that, which should make life simpler.
